Data Management and Analysis Assistant

Global Development & Research Initiative Foundation (GDRI) is a non-profit research organization that has been working in diverse areas since 2009. GDRI works in the areas of public health, education, climate change, and agriculture. GDRI is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Officer for the ongoing evidence-based policy research. The project timeline is from 01/04/2023 to 30/07/2023.

Job Title: Data Management and Analysis Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports data cleaning, management, and analyses for investigators conducting evidence-based policy-related research.
  • Assists with data design and analytic strategies for primary and secondary research projects, program evaluations, and implementation evaluations.
  • Develops and maintains databases, syntax, and data dictionaries for research projects.
  • Preparing weekly reports of survey data by producing summary statistics which may include tables, graphs, charts, maps, and other forms of data visualization.
  • Setting up the questionnaire in the KoBocollect toolbox and maintaining it.
  • Translating the questionnaire from Bangla to English and English to Bangla
  • Providing training to the enumerators and assessors for the ongoing research project.
  • Visiting, supervising, and monitoring field activities.
  • Performing other activities assigned by manager and principal investigator of the project.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency and knowledge of statistical software packages, particularly STATA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attends and contributes to study team meetings to provide updates on data-related tasks and flag issues with ongoing data collection or analysis.
  • Experience in setting up survey questions in online data collection tools, particularly in the KoBocollect toolbox.
  • Good leadership, supervisory, multi-tasking, communication, staff management, and problem-solving skills and capacity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in both English and Bangla.

Educational Requirements:

  • Candidates with a Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Educational Research and Development Studies.
  • Knowledge and expertise in Econometrics will be given priority.  

Workplace: At the regional office Paikgacha and Khulna  



Employment Status:

  • Full-time: Six months (The duration of the position may be extended based on the performance)
  • Salary: Negotiable

  • Govt. and weekly holiday (Friday).
  • Festival bonuses twice a year (Each festival bonus will be equivalent to half of the basic salary).
