About the Project The Gender Norm Project, a collaborative initiative by GDRI, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Monash University, BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), and BRAC University, focuses on addressing gender norms in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to expand women’s access to employment opportunities and improve their workplace experiences, with firm selection facilitated by BRAC’s Skill Development Programme (SDP).

Position: Facilitator (Field Level)

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face sessions with male and female workers, as well as business owners, using games as a survey tool.
  • Facilitate interactive sessions, ensuring smooth implementation of the game-based survey activities.
  • Invite participants through physical visits to selected locations and phone calls.
  • Ensure logistical requirements for sessions are met.
  • Enter data from game sessions and update vouchers daily.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Experience: Prior experience in facilitation or working with NGOs is mandatory.
  • Gender Equality: A solid understanding of gender equality and workplace gender dynamics is an advantage.
  • Technology Skills: Prior knowledge of KoBo Toolbox or similar survey tools is an asset.
  • Facilitation Skills: Prior experience conducting games or interactive activities is an advantage.

Availability

  • Must be available for travel to Khulna for training on December 7-9, and other locations as required (this job is travel-heavy).
  • Must be available to work for approximately one month, starting between December 2024 and mid-February 2025 (exact start date may vary).
  • Must be available for an online interview on December 4th and 5th.

Other Requirements

  • Must have a functional smartphone with a minimum of 2GB of RAM.
  • Must be a good team player.

Educational Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Age Requirement 22 to 45 years.

Training and Work Details

  • Work Location: Facilitators will work in Upazila Sadars across Bangladesh. We will try to assign facilitators to their home divisions.
  • Session Duration: Each session will be over 6 hours.

Compensation and Facilities

  • Honorarium: BDT 1,800 per session (local transport allowance not included).
  • Additional Benefits:
    • Food and accommodation will be provided on off days.
    • Monthly allowances for internet and talk time.
